The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Aimed at developing student’s personality through community service, NSS is a voluntary association of young people in Colleges, Universities and at +2 level working for a campus-community linkage.
The NSS club of the Christ College, Mysuru which is named as Christ Social Forum (CSF) aims to enable the students to develop their personality by creating social awareness among students and provide them with an opportunity to work for the common people. It underlines the fact that the welfare of the individual ultimately depends on the welfare of the society as a whole.
The student members of CSF club of Christ college, Mysuru are involved in a wide spectrum of activities such as Social service towards the community around the campus, cleaning the campus and keeping it clean and eco friendly by planting trees. They also conduct various awareness programs such as health camps in rural areas, organizing blood donation camps and advocating community health by raising funds for NGOs and support groups with help of faculty members in the club.
