Webinar on “Awareness Program on e-Resources of NDLI (National Digital Library of India)”

The Department of Library, Christ College, Mysuru in collaboration with IIT, Kharagpur, organized a Webinar on Awareness Program on e-Resources of NDLI (National Digital Library of India) for students, and faculty members of the College, Mysuru On Friday 27November 2020 from 2.30 – 4.00 pm.

Dr. Vignesh Sornamohan, Chief (Strategic and Outreach Officer National Digital Library of India IIT Kharagpur, West Bengal) was the Resource Person for the event.

The webinar commenced with the prayer, welcome address and the introduction to the Resource Person. Dr. Vignesh Sornamohan, the resource person spoke about the beginning of NDLI as a National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT) project developed by the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, aided by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India. In his presentation, the Resource Person elaborated upon NDLI and its features, as well as the wide range of e-resources made available on NDLI Platform. A single window platform provides learning resources with an aim to make e-learning and education accessible to all, and to bring to users of all demographics, digital repositories from India and the world. The integration platform is meant for schools, colleges, universities, teachers, students, and lecturers, anyone who has a willingness to learn. Provide support for immersive e-learning environments. There were 180 participants for the webinar, and they found, the session was very informative and inspiring. He emphasized that NDLI has taken special care of students and researcher during the COVID-19 pandemic by offering e-resources for students Participants were shown how to install NDLI App on their phones through Play store.
